Official Transcript (English)

A child who is undiscerning, does not comprehend, and lacks intellect—such as one who is a year old or similar—is not referred to as a Companion (Sahabi), as he does not discern his seeing of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

الجواب الكامل (باللغة العربية)

الطَّفل الَّذي لا يميِّز ولا يدرك ولا يعقل كالذي بلغ سنة من عمره وغيره، فلا يطلق عليه أنَّه صحابي، فهو لا يميِّز رؤيته لرسول الله ﷺ.
