Tawḥīd has what reduces it and what nullifies it. Shaykh Muḥammad bn ʿAbdil-Wahhāb has a book where he compiled ten nullifiers of Islām. These nullifiers invalidate the basis of a person's belief. There are matters that reduce one's Tawḥīd. They include: - Sins - Innovations - Acts of disobedience Some of them reach the level of disbelief and some don't. However, among the sins, the scholars exempted Ṣalāh and said there is no difference between the one who doesn't pray and the disbeliever. As the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is the prayer. Whoever leaves it has disbelieved.” Likewise, Iblīs possessed knowledge and certainty about many of the pillars of the religion. However, his problem was that he refused to make a single prostration, so Allāh named him a disbeliever. When the people of the fire are asked by the people of Jannah, { مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِی سَقَرَ } “What has caused you to enter Hell?” [Sūrah Al-Muddaththir: 42], their first response will be: { قَالُوا۟ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّینَ } “They will say: We were not of those who used to offer the Salât (prayers),” [Sūrah Al-Muddaththir: 43]. Whoever did not use to prostrate in this world, Allāh will make it impossible for him to prostrate when the Muslims are prostrating on the Day of Resurrection. Likewise, the scholars say that whoever does not have a portion in the prayer has no portion in Islām. The scholars of Islām unanimously agreed that the one who abandons the prayer is not a Muslim. So an individual should not neglect the prayer. It is an important part of our religion.
